We are proud to partner with The Twig, a local organization whose mission is to inspire and encourage foster families by meeting their needs. The Twig has two boutique storefronts in Venice and Lakewood Ranch where children in the foster care system can come monthly to shop for new and like new clothing. Their service extends to foster youth who have aged out of the system by mailing monthly care packages, called TwigBoxes, that are full of hygienic essentials. Twig Teens Connect provides a monthly event where current and former foster care youth can meet for a good meal, connect with other youth and caring adults, and learn valuable life skills. The Twig provides dignity and belonging to children, youth, and young adults who are in desperate need of love, affirmation, and community. As the saying goes, “Every child is one caring adult away from being a success story.” Capstone stands with this organization and their mission for our community. Through our partnership with The Twig, we provide volunteer opportunities for our staff, board of directors, and association members as well as fundraising initiatives in the form of financial and clothing/hygienic item drives. We are blessed to be a blessing.
